Why the rise of cafes and restaurants is causing a boom in family business

The world’s first family-run cafe and restaurant chain, which started in Britain in 1885, has opened its doors in America.
Its founder, Harry Saffy, said his restaurant, called Cafe Saffron, had seen its number of diners increase by 50% since opening.
Mr Saffyd said he was inspired to open the business by the rise in popularity of fast food, and that it was not the first time he had seen an increase in family businesses.
“We have been here about 40 years, so it has been a good way of getting into business and a good thing,” he said.
Cafe Saffyr opened in the UK in 1882.
He said the restaurant would offer a place for people to relax, eat and socialise, as well as a place to take a break from work.
The restaurant was originally set up in the London suburb of Woolwich and was a staple for families, Mr Saffyn said.
“There was nothing else like it in the country, so we had a lot of family and friends come in to eat and we were able to offer them a place where they could relax and eat in comfort,” he added.
His business, with more than 30 locations across the US, has a loyal following, with customers saying it was one of the first restaurants to offer a relaxed atmosphere.
Owner Harry Sargent said it had a “really special place” in the family.
“We are the original family restaurant and we want to stay that way for as long as we possibly can,” he told the BBC.
A large number of restaurants in the US have opened in recent years, with the majority catering to fast food restaurants, according to the website Restaurant Business Insider.
It is estimated that about 5% of the US population is a family member or relative who regularly attends restaurants, such as Mr Sargen.
In 2016, Cafe Safron opened in Washington DC, followed by restaurants in Denver, Chicago and Dallas.
Earlier this year, a restaurant chain opened in California.
Family-run restaurants in China also have a large number.
