And that means you’ll likely have to pay more than your local cable provider.
A new Pew Research Center report, Family Business Nation, finds that families earning more than $150,000 a year and with an annual income of more than that amount will pay an average of $3,631 more in their monthly bills.
For families earning less than $100,000, the cost is $1,895 more.
This is because people with higher incomes will pay more for higher quality broadband.
The Pew report says that while the median family income in the U.S. is about $52,000 per year, that number for those earning less will be $78,200.
That is because many people who make the median income for a household of two adults and two children are more likely to be enrolled in school, have a high-paying job, have kids, or have more financial resources.
This may make it more difficult for people in households earning $150 to $200,000 to afford a higher quality of internet.
If you live in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, the price tag for a family with two adults, two children, and an internet connection is about to go up.
The price of a single internet connection in Dallas for a person making the median household income of $52-100K is about 18 cents per month, or about $8.65 per month.
Worth metro area has a population of about 26.4 million people.
In other parts of the country, the costs of broadband for homes earning less income will be lower.
In Kansas City, the city with the most residents earning less, prices for a home with a broadband connection are about 20 cents per Mbps, or a little more than half of what it costs in Denver.
A higher-income family in Kansas City pays about 22 cents per 1Mbps download.
In Denver, it’s more like 27 cents per download.
In many parts of America, people who have more resources can afford higher quality internet access, but they also pay higher prices.
If you’re making $250,000 or more, you can get a high quality internet connection for $10 per month if you have a broadband subscription of at least 1Mbps.
If your internet is only 1Mbps, it would cost you $6.85 per month to get the same quality of service for just $4.75 per month on a monthly basis.
